Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school. This means that we welcome all children and value the contribution that they make to the life of the school.
Our aim is to identify areas at an early stage where children may be underchieving or experiencing learning difficulties. Targeted support, and sometimes specific interventions, are planned and carefully monitored. We aim to work closely with parents and carers and we know that this teamwork brings the best results for the child.
Our staff receive regular training in all areas of special needs and we bring in the support from a range of external educational specialists as required. Our special needs coordinator (SENCo) is Mrs Megan Carberry who can be contacted at mcarberry@wolvercoteprimary.org. She is very experienced and offers support to children, staff and parents.
The governor with reponsibility for SEND is Kerrie Butler
On this page you will find links to the documents that provide more information about our provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). If you require any more information please see your child's class teacher or our SENCo, Megan Carberry.
