Admissions
Thank you for your interest in Wolvercote Primary School.
Please call the school to make an appointment to come and look around. This will give you a good sense of what the school is like and an opportunity to ask us questions. We welcome visitors and enjoy showing people our wonderful school.
We also have a short video of the children leading a tour of our Reception classroom which can be viewed by clicking the link further down this page.
Wolvercote Primary School is an Academy managed by the River Learning Trust and as such is its own admissions authority. The River Learning Trust has delegated the responsibility for admission arrangements for Wolvercote Primary School to the Local Authority, Oxfordshire County Council.
Details on how to apply for a full time place at Wolvercote Primary School, including the appeals process, can be found via the Local Authority Website:
Oxfordshire Gov Information regarding admissions to Wolvercote Primary School can be found below.
Applications for a Nursery Place
Children are eligible to join our nursery in September after their 3rd birthday. We have one intake in September, although if there is availability a child can join mid-year.
The school manages admissions for nursery places. Please contact the school office for an application form. Offers for September 2024 will be made on 22nd March 2024. Any applications after this date will be offered a place (if there is a space available) or placed on our waiting list.
The Nursery is open every morning (8.45-11.45am) for 15 fully funded hours.
There is also the option for children to stay all day as we are able to offer 30 hours provision.
Admissions for a Reception Place
Children are eligible to start fulltime at Wolvercote Primary School in the September after their 4th birthday.
Admission to our school is by application. Parents wishing to apply for their child to join the Reception class must complete the application form provided by the local authority.
The window for people seeking a Reception place in September 2025 opened at the start of November 2024.
The deadline for applications is January 15th 2025.
Parents and carers find out on April 16th 2025 if their application to Wolvercote Primary has been successful.

Applications for Other Year Groups
For admission to all other year groups the application must still be made through the local authority.
Wolvercote is a popular and often oversubscribed school; if you are unsuccessful in gaining a place, it is possible to ask the local authority to keep your child on a continued interest list which means they will alert you should a place arise.
